My home is Orcas Island, my goal is a Sustainable Life for us all, my method is to try to lead by example... My wonderful wife, Kate, and I have been on Orcas for almost 20 years now; three of our adult children and our four grandchildren also live, work and play here. Our point of view is that our family, community and society WILL eventually be forced to make the transition to a post-carbon/expensive-energy way of living. We would like to make that transition deliberately and sensibly rather than be forced into it by crisis.

We also believe in the power and benefit of slowing down, being quiet, sharing in the long slow conversations that can only happen when we take time to listen to each other, the children and the land. Orcas Island is a place where Going Slow is possible.
