This morning, after dropping of my kids at school, I saw my son's classroom notebook sitting on our dining room table. My first thought was to zip back over in my car. Then I thought, "No way! It's a nice day -- I'll take my bike!"
So I did the 2 miles each way ...
I thought this was a pretty good article from the LA Times. It's from someone writing a column under the heading "Realist Idealist" and has their experiences as to what worked for them, and what did not, in their attempts at living more ecologically friendly.

Bring your own bags to the store when you go shopping. Simple. The key is to remember to have them handy. I keep mine in the car at all times.

Eating less meat has been a vague goal of mine for some time now. I don't want to become a vegetarian, because, well, I like meat! Maybe I'd be healthier by being a vegetarian. But I'm just not ready to take that step.
But here's a project that I think can nudge me in the right direction ...

Figure out how to recycle a dead laptop so that the parts are not just dumped in a landfill or sent to another country. The EPA has some serious stats on this issue:
