earthbongo is a friendly, supportive online community of users who share a desire to make the world a better place. People take meaningful action towards common goals through user-created projects. These projects, created by people like you, inspire and motivate people to collectively do good.

Some basic tips:

Creating projects on earthbongo is a fun and easy process. We’re all about small, approachable projects. Give people a concrete goal they can achieve and list clear steps they can check off as they participate.

For example, instead of asking people to carpool to work from now on, try asking them to carpool three times in the next 30 days and comment on their experience. Instead of asking people to eat only organic, try asking them to cook one all-organic meal and share a picture of it.

Projects which include product endorsements:

Projects can include making a purchase to help you achieve the desired outcome, such as living a more sustainable life. However, if you list specific sources for where participants can acquire a relevant product relating to your project, you must list at least three different sources. Please be aware that projects should never involve enriching yourself.

About projects relating to fundraising:

Lots of organizations want to use earthbongo for fundraising, and we want to help make those projects successful, too. While there are lots of places on the web you might consider for your fundraising, earthbongo offers a unique approach: asking people to take action in their daily lives on behalf of your cause.

For example, instead of asking people to send $10 to a cause, consider asking people to collect spare change in a jar for a month and then donate that total. Instead of asking people to write a check to a cancer-fighting organization, try asking them to run a race and collect pledges from sponsors.

There are other sites on the web that are better for direct requests for money, such as if you’d like to link to a “donate” button or make a direct solicitation for funds. We do not allow this direct of direct request on earthbongo.com. If you are unsure if your proposed project fits within our guidelines, please contact us at hello@earthbongo.com. We’ll talk it over with you.

Also, if your project is not part of a particular co-branded community, please know that you may include links to charitable organizations, as long as you list at least three, so that participants can make a choice when they take part in the project.

Finally, projects should not:

  1. Be about earning money for yourself.
  2. Ask people to send money anywhere.
  3. Send people to a "donate" button.
  4. Be advertisements.
  5. Include derogatory remarks or attack individuals, groups, businesses, or organizations.
  6. Be overtly political or partisan.
