Title-blog-entry • Rice Cooker (from the project Repair one piece of "disposable" electronics!)

We have a great japanese rice cooker. It's programmable, reliable, and now needs a new lithium battery.

Which isn't accessible to normal humans, and requires you to ship your cooker back to the factory and pay $$ and wait.

So a trip to Fry's later, we have a 3V battery pack soldered in and...I'd like to say it's working, but apparently our appliance is really picky about voltage, so the clock isn't keeping time.

But, on to option number two! Apparently Batteries Plus can stick solder tabs onto their stock, so we'll get a new lithium battery and try again!
